Ciovo bridge near completion
The new bridge between Trogir and Ciovo is near completion! Three years and 3 months after the works commenced, the bone structure has finally connected both sides. Strabag and PZC Split have put the missing central part of the bridge to its place, completing the steel works.
The next step is to build in the hydraulic mechanism that will enable the central part of the structure to open, if needed for the big boats to pass under.According to the latest information, Ciovo bridge should be open to public at the end of July 2018.
The bridge represents a dream come true, not only for Trogir and Ciovo residents, but many of its visitors and property owners as traffic jams occurring in the in summer months became unbearable in the past few years. With no doubt, this important infrastructure will affect the property prices on Ciovo island. With over 1 million overnight stays in the season, this small island has already positioned itself as a sought-after destination.
